Sanjay Raut arrest: Shiv Sena plans big protest across Mumbai against his arrest

Sunil Raut accused the BJP that the party was afraid of him and got him arrested. He further said that they (the ED) didn’t give him any documents. He had been framed.

The Shiv Sena will stage a protest across Mumbai over party Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut’s arrest in the Patra Chawl land scam case. After Raut’s arrest on Sunday midnight, protests took place in Jammu and Pune soon after his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate.

Speaking to a TV channel, Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said the party MPs will raise the issue in Parliament too. She said the BJP was trying to silence whoever exposed it and said the Shiv Sena will not bow to the BJP.

Sanjay Raut had been summoned twice by the ED and had not appeared necessitating his arrest. His brother, Sunil Raut, said the BJP was afraid of Sanjay Raut and got him arrested on trumped up charges. He said the ED didn’t give him any documents.

Before his arrest, Sanjay Raut had claimed the ED was trying to weaken the Shiv Sena and a false case was prepared against him.

The BJP hit back at the Shiv Sena leader for skipping the summons. BJP MLA Ram Kadam asked why was Raut scared of the ED if he was innocent. He had time to give press conferences but couldn’t appear before the ED, Kadam wondered.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also took a dig at Sanjay Raut and said he should not be scared. The CM said he need not fear if he was innocent and the probe should continue. On Sunday, the ED had seized cash worth Rs 11.50 lakh from Sanjay Raut’s residence in Mumbai.

In April, the agency had attached assets worth Rs 11.15 crore from his wife Varsha Raut and two of his associates.

Besides, Raut was the pointperson for the Shiv Sena in Delhi and was a stout defender of the erstwhile Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi government when the Eknath Shinde faction of the party forced the resignation of Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav and his wife Rajshree Yadav are blessed with a baby girl. The couple welcomed their first child on Monday morning.

The news of the arrival of the little bundle of joy was shared by Tejashwi’s sister Rohini Acharya with a beautiful poem. She also shared the photo of Tejashwi holding the newborn and captioned it that her house now echoes a joyous squeal. God has given such a gift of happiness.

The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader also tweeted that God has been pleased and sent a gift in the form of a daughter.

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal was among the first ones to congratulate the minister.

Tejashwi, the heir apparent of former Union minister and former Bihar chief minister Lalu Yadav, married his long time friend Rajshree Yadav on December 9, 2021. Rajshree, who hails from Rewari in Haryana, has been living in Delhi since childhood.

Tejashwi and Yadav studied together at DPS School in Delhi’s RK Puram.

Rahul Gandhi’s Savarkar remark upsets Uddhav Thackeray, warns remarks over Savarkar would create cracks in Opposition alliance

Rahul Gandhi’s press conference ruffled not only the feathers of the Centre but also the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena. Thackeray on Sunday raised a caveat citing that the use of Savarkar’s name in bad light would lead to creating cracks in the Opposition alliance.

Uddhav Thackeray said that he idolises the Hindutva Ideologue VD Savarkar and further warned Rahul Gandhi against using Savarkar’s name in a bad light. Thackeray further said that Savarkar suffered through unimaginable torture in Andaman cellular jail for 14 years and further said that the accounts of his torture are not tactile and can only be read.

UBT Shiv Sena Chief further called the jail term of Savarkar as a form of sacrifice and warned Congress that they will not tolerate the insult of Savarkar.

Thackeray further said that Savarkar is his party’s god and further cautioned that the party won’t tolerate any disrespect towards him. He further said that his party is ready to fight however raised a caveat that they won’t tolerate any insult toward their god.

Shiv Sena UBT chief also advised Gandhi that the alliance of the Uddhav faction, Congress, and NCP was made to protect democracy. He further stressed that the alliance needs to work unitedly.

Thackeray also said that Rahul Gandhi is being provoked deliberately but if the alliance wastes time in this, democracy will vanish from the country.

The caution and or warning by Uddhav Thackeray comes after Rahul Gandhi, in his Press Conference, post his disqualification from Lok Sabha, said that his name is not Savarkar, his name is Gandhi and Gandhi does not offer an apology to anyone. Rahul Gandhi was disqualified from the parliament after he was convicted in a defamation case for using Modi surname.

Following Gandhi’s disqualification, various Opposition parties including the Shiv Sena UBT party joined hands to slam the Centre. Thackeray, while reacting to the news of Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification, said that Modi is not India and further questioned if the freedom fighters sacrificed their lives for such an India. He further stressed that questioning Modi is not about insulting India.

Malayalam actor Innocent dies at 75

The unfortunate news of Innocent’s death was met with mourning as Kerala Chief Minister, as well as senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, BJP’s Khushbu Sundar, offered their condolences.

Notable actor from the Malayalam film fraternity and also an ex-Lok Sabha MP, Innocent died on Sunday. The 75-year-old Malayalam actor was hospitalized earlier this month. According to the hospital, Innocent was diagnosed owing to which, the actor faced various respiratory issues, as well as multiple organ failure that led to heart failure.

It was also reported that the Malayalam actor was put on cardiopulmonary support, which helps is a machine that helps in pumping and oxygenating the blood. Innocent was also known to have battled with cancer after being diagnosed in 2012. Following the former MP’s journey to beat cancer, he also wrote a book titled ‘Laughter in the Cancer Ward”.

The unfortunate news of Innocent’s death was met with mourning as Kerala Chief Minister, as well as senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, BJP’s Khushbu Sundar, offered their condolences.

Kerala CMP Pinarayi Vijayan said that the deceased actor claimed the hearts of the with his unique style of acting and further added and said that as a public figure, innocent impacted the lives of people by raising their issues.

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor took to Twitter to offer his condolences to the actor’s family. Tharoor in his tweet wrote he is mourning the loss of a character actor, comedian, and one-time Kerala MP. He further wrote and said that aside from being a brilliantly inventive and talented actor, Innocent was also a fine human being.

BJP’s Khushbu Sundar also took to Twitter to offer condolence as she wrote in a Tweet that she was devastated to hear the news of Innocent’s death. She further wrote and said that the nation lost a great actor and a great human..

She further termed the deceased actor as a legend and further highlighted his passing to be synonymous to loss of a priceless gem. Sundar further wrote offered condolences to the former MP’s family and friends.
