Portugal football team captain Cristiano Ronaldo started his campaign on the right foot as the star striker became the first player to ever score in 5 different World Cup Tournaments, after winning and scoring a penalty against Ghana in the first match of Portugal’s first World Cup Campaign. The Portugal captain was praised by his fellow countryman and former Manchester United teammate for performing better while being criticised.

The Portuguese midfielder, Bruno Fernandes has come out in support of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner as he stated in a press conference that he believes that Ronaldo works under that criticism from everyone and added that and urged the critics to keep at it as it gets the best of Ronaldo.

The Manchester United Midfielder also stated that it was a dream come true to play with Ronaldo in the national team and in the club and also termed his experience as amazing. He further added that he still shares the space with him in the national team and said that the main aim for the team is to perform well and consistently in the tournament and get the result.

Manchester United’s decision after Ronaldo’s interview

Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United became the much-anticipated revival for the red devils after failing to deliver in the prior seasons. However, after two spells with Manchester United, the interview with Pierse Morgan became the threshold which triggered Manchester United to break ties with their star striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Club and the star player mutually agreed that it would be best for Ronaldo to leave the club with immediate effect on November 22.

Australia’s former skipper Ricky Ponting has been rushed to hospital after he complained of uneasiness on Day three of AUS vs WI Test match. The 47-year-old was doing commentary and felt fine in the morning, but around lunch time the former Aussie batter was rushed to a Perth Hospital.

For the unversed, West Indies and host Australia are playing the first Test match of the series at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting joined the series as a commentator. According to several reports, on Friday, he suddenly felt pain in his heart and was taken to the hospital in a hurry.

He is currently admitted in a Perth hospital. However, the local website has reportedly confirmed that is Ricky Ponting is feeling fine and had gone to the hospital as a precaution as he was feeling unwell.

On the first day of the first Test match, Ricky Ponting shared a photo on social media, in which fellow cricketers included in the commentary panel, Matthew Hayden and Justin Langer were standing next to him.

On the game front, on the the third day of the Australia vs West Indies Test match Australia stands in a very strong position. Coming to bat first after winning the toss, Australia scored 598 runs on the loss of 4 wickets.

Marenas Labushnaya (204) and Steve Smith (200) scored double centuries. West Indies’ first innings was very poor, the team was all out for 283 runs. Currently, Australia is playing its second innings.

West Indies legendary all-rounder and Indian Premiere League’s leading wicket taker. Dwayne Bravo has called time on his playing career in the league. But the cricketer will stay associated with the league as CSK’s bowling coach.

Bravo joined Chennai Super Kings in 2011 and since then he has been an integral part of the franchise. But now the team will have to perform without their most dependable bowler. However, Bravo made the announcement and said that he will work in different capacity but will stay with CSK only.

Bravo said that he looking forward to this new journey because it’s something he sees himself doing after his playing days are fully over. Bravo said that he enjoyed working with bowlers and it’s a role that he’s the most excited about. Bravo thinks that from player to coach, he will not have to adjust much because while playing, he has worked with bowlers and has tried to come up with plans and ideas on how to have that one step ahead of the batsmen. While the Indian cricket team is gearing up for the India vs Bangladesh ODI and Test Series, Indian opener KL Rahul might be planning to get married next month. Reports suggest that Rahul and Athiya might be tying the knot in January 2023, for which the cricketer has also applied for a long leave.

According to media reports, KL Rahul had also discussed this with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and sought personal leave. BCCI has agreed to this and now he will be rested or ruled out after the Bangladesh Test and ODI series. The reason behind this leave is believed to be his wedding with Bollywood actor Athiya Shetty.

Reportedly, both have been in a relationship for a very long time. Earlier there were reports that both would get married in December this year. However, now it has been told in the media reports that both of them can get married next month. Athiya was in Australia during the T20 World Cup 2022 and was seen with Rahul on several occasions. She also went to the stadium to watch the India-Bangladesh match. Rahul had also posted a romantic post on Athiya’s birthday on November 5.

For the unversed, Athiya is the daughter of Bollywood veteran Suniel Shetty. Athiya Shetty has worked in only five films in eight years. She started her career with the film Hero released in the year 2015, in which the actress was seen opposite Sooraj Pancholi. After this she has worked in films like Mubarakan, Nawabzade and Motichoor Chaknachoor.

On the other hand, Rahul has played 43 Tests, 45 ODIs and 72 T20s in his international career. He has 2547 runs in Tests at an average of 35.38, 1665 runs in ODIs at an average of 45 and 2265 runs in T20Is at an average of 37.75. Rahul is one of the few batsmen to score a century in all the three formats. KL has seven centuries and 13 half-centuries in Tests, five centuries and 10 half-centuries in ODIs, two centuries and 22 half-centuries in T20s. He is also the captain of the Lucknow Super Giants franchise in IPL.

Lastly, after the end of the T20 and ODI series against New Zealand, Team India will now play a three-match ODI series and a two-match Test series on Bangladesh tour. Many Indian senior players are returning to the team through this tour. These include senior players like regular captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. India’s Bangladesh tour will run from December 4 to December 26. Initially three ODIs will be played and after that, the Test series will be played from 14 December.
