In yet another blooper onboard an Air India aircraft, a woman passenger was reportedly stung mid-air on its Nagpur-Mumbai flight, following which the Tata Group-owned airline issued an apology on Saturday.

As per reports, the incident took place on April 23 onboard the Air India Nagpur-Mumbai flight (AI 630) when the woman passenger, whose name wasn’t given, was stung by a scorpion in mid-air.

Air India issued an apology today saying that it regretted the incident and the agony caused to the passenger. They said that the woman was immediately attended to by medical staff upon landing at the Mumbai airport and was then admitted to a hospital for further treatment, adding that she has been discharged and is stable.

The statement from Air India read: “There was an extremely rare and unfortunate incident involving a scorpion biting a passenger on board our flight AI 630 on April 23, 2023. On landing, the said passenger was attended by the doctor at the airport and subsequently was treated at the hospital and discharged.”

The airline said that its officials accompanied the passenger to the hospital and all support and services were offered to her till was discharged from the hospital.

Air India said that upon landing at the Mumbai Airport, a thorough check of the aircraft was conducted and the scorpion was found, following which fumigation was also carried out.

The airline added that it regrets the “agony and inconvenience caused to the passenger” due to the “rare and unfortunate” incident.

In a related incident, aviation watchdog Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) ordered a probe against an Air India pilot for violating norms by entertaining female passengers inside a cockpit.

In a formal complaint, the cabin crew of Air India Delhi-Dubai flight AI915, revealed that the pilots of the said flight were late and boarded the aircraft along with passengers. The captain then asked the crew if there was a vacant business class seat for his very sweet friend who was travelling in economy class and wants her to be upgraded to business class.

The cabin crew said she informed the captain that the business class is full and the upgrade is not possible following which the pilot decided to accommodate her in the cockpit.

Allu Arjun-Atlee sci-fi film poster copied from Dune, say netizens

“Why not create your own poster instead of copying?” A further user noted, “Is this stealing already? I see.”

The recently unveiled poster for the upcoming film featuring Allu Arjun and director Atlee has ignited controversy just hours after its release, with social media users alleging that the visuals bear a resemblance to those from Dune. Released by Sun Pictures in celebration of surpassing six million views on the announcement video, the poster was quickly compared to the acclaimed 2021 sci-fi film.

An individual on X (formerly Twitter) highlighted the similarities by sharing the Dune poster, accusing Atlee of directly copying it. The user commented, “My brother, it hasn’t even started and you’ve already lifted the Dune poster?”

Another user tweeted a side-by-side comparison, stating, “We have such great talent in the country, why resort to copying? If you do, why not be more subtle? The poster indeed looks impressive, but perhaps they thought it was worth the gamble. Did Allu Arjun and Atlee really copy Dune?”

In addition to the Dune controversy, one user pointed out another poster from the same team that appeared to mimic visuals from Interstellar, joking, “The posters are a mix of InterstellarDuneStar Wars, etc. Regardless, if Atlee can deliver a good presentation, I’m on board.”

Another critic called out Atlee, saying, “First it’s Interstellar, and now Dune. @Atlee_dir, have some dignity, da.” Following this, another comment read, “Why not create your own poster instead of copying?” A further user noted, “Is this stealing already? I see.”

Fans quickly highlighted visual similarities, including the layout, color scheme, and desert-like aesthetic that closely resembled promotional materials from Dune. One user quipped, “Atlee just rebranded Dune and called it a day,” while others pointed out the striking parallels.

Atlee, known for his work on Jawan, has faced similar scrutiny in the past for allegedly borrowing elements from previous hits. In a 2023 interview, he defended his artistic style, stating, “In the creative field, you end up making similar stories. That doesn’t mean I copy them. It can be inspired.”

The forthcoming project, currently titled AA 22, is being characterized as a sci-fi action adventure. The teaser suggests a high-budget production with collaboration from Hollywood VFX teams. Atlee has referred to the film as his “dream project,” commending Allu Arjun and producer Kalanithi Maran for their support.

Anticipation is building for AA 22, particularly with music composed by rising talent Sai Abhyankkar. While the full cast has yet to be announced, filming is expected to commence soon.

Suchana Seth, the Bengaluru-based AI startup CEO arrested in January 2024 for the murder of her four-year-old son, has landed in fresh legal trouble while serving as an undertrial at Colvale Central Jail in Goa.

On April 7, 2025, around 11:30 a.m., Seth allegedly assaulted a female constable inside the prison’s Ladies Block, escalating her ongoing legal battles.

According to prison officials, the incident occurred when Seth forcibly took the inward register of the Ladies Prisoner Block without authorization. Constable Savita Navu Varak, who was performing her routine duties, intervened to stop Seth, prompting a heated confrontation.

Reports state that Seth verbally abused the constable with offensive language before physically attacking her. The altercation has shocked authorities and highlighted tensions within the facility.

Jail officials have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Seth under Sections 121(1) and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which address obstructing public servants in the discharge of their duties and assault, respectively. A detailed report on the incident has been submitted, and further investigations are underway to determine the full circumstances and prevent similar incidents in the future.

Digvesh Rathi new celebration

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) spinner Digvesh Rathi made headlines not just for his performance but also for his new celebration during the IPL 2025 clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Tuesday at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

The young wrist spinner struck in his very first over, dismissing none other than his childhood idol Sunil Narine, who had looked dangerous with 30 off 13 balls. Rathi had Narine caught at long off, a key moment in KKR’s massive 239-run chase.

Following the dismissal, Rathi unveiled a new signature celebration, making a writing gesture on the ground, a move believed to be a subtle response to recent sanctions imposed by the IPL governing council.

Though details of the earlier sanction haven’t been officially disclosed, sources suggest it was linked to on-field conduct or celebration style, prompting Rathi to modify his post-wicket reactions this season.

Rathi’s early breakthrough added to LSG’s strong defense of their massive total, and his composed performance under pressure further cemented his growing status in the squad.
