England has submerged in sorrow after UK’s longest-serving monarch, Queen Elizabeth II passed away at the age to 96 after reigning for 70 years. The Queen was hospitalized at Balmoral Castle since last week. And now her eldest son, Charles (73) succeeds as king and his eldest son Duke of Cambridge, William is first in line to the throne.

The Royal Family shared the news of Queen Elizabeth’s demise on their Twitter handle. The tweet read, The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.

However, soon after Queen’s demise #Kohinoor started to trend in India. The Indian audience first discussed and later demanded the return of Kohinoor in India. For the unversed, according to renowned economist Utsa Patnaik, Britain, apart from Kohinoor drained a total of nearly $45 Trillion from India during the period 1765 to 1938.

Later in 1937, Queen Elizabeth II’s got a Queen Mother’s Crown made, which contains Kohinoor diamond. But now that the Queen died, Indian did not revised the history of colonization to freedom but also expected England to return one of the largest cut diamonds in the world, weighing 105.6 carats (21.12 g) which originally belongs to India.

However, Bollywood singer Mukti Mohan had a rather good take on this trend. Hours after Queen passed away, Olympic medalist Neeraj Chopra added another feather to his cap and won the maiden Diamond League Title. While congratulating Neeraj, Mukti asked Indian to movie forward and notice the real diamond.

Queen Elizabeth II was born on April 21, 1926, at 17 Bruton Street in Mayfair, London. She was the firstborn of the Duke and Duchess of York, who later became King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. After her father’s demise, Elizabeth II acceded to the throne at the age of 25, on February 6, 1952. Her Coronation took place on June 2, 1953, at Westminster Abbey in London.

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Pathaan is continuing to earn hugely at the worldwide box office. Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan made an impactful comeback after 4 years on silver screen and his film has collected Rs 667 crore at the worldwide box office within eight days.

Talking about the collection on the ninth day, according to the initial estimates, Shahrukh Khan’s action film earned 15-17 crores in India on the 9th day. The Yash Raj produced film is running on more than 5000 screens which means that the capacity is not an issue and the audience is getting enough seats for entertainment.

The film is going to be included in 400 crore club

Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan will join the 400 crore club in a few days. The film has earned 348.50 crores in just eight days in India and if the collection of the 9th day is taken into account, then the collection of the film will be around 363.50-365.50 crores. Pathaan has been directed by Siddharth Anand and was released worldwide on 25 January. Not just Hindi but the film has also been released in Tamil and Telugu languages. Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham are in lead roles.

For the unversed, after Pathan, Shah Rukh Khan has started shooting for his next film, titled Jawan. In this film too, King Khan is going to be seen doing in a different style. The teaser of the film is currently trending on social media. Atlee is the director of this film and South Superstar Nayanthara is the female lead of the film. Apart from this, Shah Rukh will also be seen in Rajkumari Hirani’s next film Dunki in the end of this year. Taapsee Pannu will be sharing screen space with SRK for the first time in Dunki.

Bigg Boss 16: Sumbul Touqeer Khan to get evicted from Salman Khan show a week before Finale

Sumbul Touqeer Khan has been eliminated from the Bigg Boss 16 show a week before the Grand Finale. Despite being the popular face of the Indian television industry, the Imlie actor could not reach the top spot. Fans are wondering if Sumbul herself was the reason behind her eviction.

The contestants were divided into two teams in the nomination task, Mandali consisting of Shiv Thakare, MC Stan and Sumbul Touqeer Khan vs Archana Gautam, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary and Shalin Bhanot. Each of them was supposed to count 9 minutes, however, Sumbul Touqeer took the highest time of 17 plus minutes which led to Mandali being nominated.

Though the Mandali got nominated because of Sumbul, the other nominated contestants Shiv and Stan, did not blame her. However, during the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, hosted by Karan Johar, the filmmaker called out Shiv for not questioning Sumbul about his nomination. Later, he asks Shiv to walk out of the show as he got the lowest number of votes.

Well, contrary to the promo, The Khabri has tweeted out saying that Sumbul Touqeer Khan will be eliminated from Bigg Boss 16 during the Weekend Ka Vaar.

The contestants who have reached the finale week are Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, Archana Gautam, Shalin Bhanot, MC Stan, Shiv Thakare, and Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia. There are also reports that Shalin Bhanot will also get evicted from the show later in the week.

Celebrated filmmaker K Viswanath dies at 92, celebs pay tribute



Celebrated filmmaker and Dadasaheb Phalke awardee Kasinadhuni Viswanath passed away at a private hospital in Hyderabad on late Thursday night. He was 92. Vishwanath, a five-time national awardee, was unwell for some time and died due to age-related issues, family sources said.

The veteran filmmaker passed away around midnight on Thursday.

Popularly known as ‘Kalatapasvi’, Viswanath was born in February 1930 in Andhra Pradesh and started his career in filmmaking as a sound engineer under director Adurthi Subba Rao. Later, he went on to work as an assistant director for Telugu film Pathala Bhairavi in 1951.

Viswanath went on to direct award-winning films like Sankarabharanam, Sagara Sangamam, Swati Mutyam, Saptapadi, Kaamchor, Sanjog and Jaag Utha Insaan during his illustrious career.

Viswanath, who made 50 movies since 1965, is a household name in the Telugu film industry and also renowned for his work in Tamil cinema and the Bollywood industry. The veteran artiste also had a successful stint as an actor in movies such as Swarabhishekam, “Pandurangadu”, “Narasimha Naidu”, “Lakshmi Narasimha” and “Seemasimham”, “Kuruthipunal”, “Kakkai Siraginilae” and “Bagavathi”, among others.

Viswanath’s directorial debut Aatma Gowravam, starring Akkineni Nageswara Rao, won the Nandi Award for the best feature film and followed more hits like Chelleli Kapuram, O Seeta Katha, Jeevana Jyoti and Sarada.

Viswanath was felicitated with the Dadasaheb Phalke award, the highest recognition in Indian cinema, in 2017, as its 48th recipient. Over a four-decade long career, the illustrious director was conferred with the Padma Shri in 1992 and has also collected five 20 Nandi Awards (given by the Andhra Pradesh government) and 10 Filmfare trophies including the Lifetime Achievement award.

Several big-wigs of the Indian film industry paid tributes to the legendary filmmaker.

RRR director SS Rajamouli in his tribute posted on Twitter said that Viswanath’s signature on Telugu cinema and art in general will shine brightly forever.

Jr NTR in his condolence pointed out the late director’s contributions to Telugu cinema, saying that Viswanath holds a high place among those who spread the fame of Telugu cinema across the continents. “He gave many incredible films like Shankarabharan and Sagara Sangam. The loss without him is never-ending. My deepest condolences to his family and may his soul rest in peace.”

Calling Viswanath his Guru, Veteran Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor shared a picture of himself with the late director and thanked the filmmaker for teaching him the ropes during the actor’s early years. He wrote: “K. Vishwanath Ji you taught me so much, being on set with you during Eeshwar was like being in a temple… RIP My Guru.”

In an emotional note, Tamil superstar Manmooty wrote: “Deeply saddened by the demise of Sri K Viswanath Garu. Had the privilege of being directed by him in Swathikiranam. My thoughts and prayers with his loved ones.”

AR Rahman wrote, “Anjali tradition, warmth, heart, music, dance, love …..your movies filled my childhood with humaneness and wonder! #ripkviswanathji.”

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao also expressed his condolences over the death of Viswanath.
