A shocking incident has come to light from Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district. Reports said that when a tribal police cop requested his seniors to take take action in a tribal brutality case, they allegedly beaten him up.

Journalist Ashutosh Bhardwaj shared this incident on Twitter. He wrote that the incident happened on Tuesday. Tribal police official Madvi Joga informed him that after this incident, he was asked to deposit his weapon. He was without any weapon in the naxal zone.

It was not the first incident of Chhattisgarh police overlooking the attacks on Christians. A similar incident happened in the state capital Raipur in 2021. Ashutosh Bhardwaj shared this incident too. He wrote that the Raipur police called two Christian pastors on a complaint of right wing (RW) that they were converting Hindus. Soon the goons barged into the police station and beaten up the pastors in the presence of policemen. A pastor allegedly informed him that the Christians were not safe even in the police stations.

The social media users started criticizing the state government when the incident surfaced on the internet. One Bob Jacob wrote on Twitter that what’s happening in Chhattisgarh with congress in power was a painful reminder that congress was not serious about minorities but appeasing the very RW agenda. It was verry shamefull incident.

He further wrote that what was the point if the congress was not able to control RW violence against minorities…at least BJP was clear on its stand. In 2014 many turned away from congress including him for the non governance.

Trinamool Congress’ national spokesperson Saket Gokhale requested urgent intervention of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in this matter. He wrote on Twitter that urgent action should be taken against these perpetrators of violence against Adivasi Christians and the cops who seem to be supporting them. This was atrocious and unacceptable!

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Wednesday slammed Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the deteriorating law and order situation in the capital and said the BJP-ruled central government has only one job in Delhi which is to maintain law and order but it has completely failed.

The Chief Minister said Delhi has become the crime capital. This comes after Atishi met the parents of a 28-year-old man, who was killed in northeast Delhi’s Sunder Nagari last week.

In a post on X, the Delhi CM said overtly firing, extortion and murder have become a daily affair in the capital, but instead of addressing such issues, the Home Minister is busy in election rallies.

Recently, a 28-year-old youth was murdered in broad daylight in Sunder Nagari, she said.

“Today I met the family of the deceased and consoled them. The Delhi government will provide a financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the family of the deceased,” the CM said.

“Amit Shah ji: Instead of doing politics, fulfill your responsibility of managing the security of Delhi. Due to your failure, Delhi has become the crime capital,” the senior AAP leader said.

The Chief Minister also announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the affected family.

According to reports, a 28-year-old man died after he was stabbed in the neck on Friday night allegedly by two brothers, minutes after the victim and his relative rebuked and stopped the duo from harassing a woman at Sunder Nagri in northeast Delhi. The police had arrested both accused after the murder.

Speaking to reporters, Atishi said Delhi has become gangster capital as criminals, extortionists, and goons have no fear left, adding they feel they can open fire, kill someone, stab someone but the police won’t do anything.

“I want to know from the country’s Home Minister Amit Shah that when Delhi’s law and order come under him then what he is doing for the people of Delhi? The condition of law and order is deteriorating. Extortion and murders are happening everyday, however, the home minister has no work other than election campaigning,” she said.

Uttar Pradesh bypolls: Woman’s body found in sack, family allege she was killed for supporting BJP

In a tragic incident, a 23-year-old Dalit woman’s body was found in a sack in Uttar Pradesh’s Karhal constituency this morning. The incident has sparked a political storm after her family alleged that a local Samajwadi Party worker had been pressuring her against voting for BJP in the bypolls being held today.

The Police said Prashant Yadav and Mohan Katheria have been arrested in a case registered on a complaint by the woman’s father. Manipuri district police chief Vinod Kumar said that the parents of the woman have alleged the accused killed her because she wanted to vote for the BJP.

The victim’s father also said that Prashant Yadav came to their home three days back and asked her which party she would vote for. The victim replied that she would vote for lotus, BJP’s symbol, because her family got a home under the PM Awas Yojana. Prashant Yadav then threatened her and asked her to vote for cycle, the Samajwadi Party’s election symbol, the woman’s father alleged.

Following, the BJP has launched a scathing attack on the Samajwadi Party over the woman’s death. Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary said that at Karhal in Mainpuri district, Samajwadi Party’s Prashant Yadav and his aides brutally murdered a Dalit daughter only because she refused to vote for cycle.

Samajwadi Party’s Karhal candidate Tej Pratap Yadav said there must be a thorough probe and the guilty must face tough punishment. Without referring to the murder, the party’s handle on ‘X’ put up a post, alleging that police were intimidating voters in the name of patrolling. Meanwhile, the senior party leaders are yet to respond to the incident.

Notably, the allegations surrounding the woman’s death come amid a massive blame game between the ruling BJP and the Opposition Samajwadi Party as nine Assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh vote in today’s bypolls. These seats are Katehari, Karhal, Mirapur, Ghaziabad, Majhawan, Sisamau, Khair, Phulpur and Kundarki. These seats were vacated after the sitting MLAs were elected to Lok Sabha. Akhilesh Yadav represented Karhal in the Assembly before being elected to Lok Sabha as Kannauj MP.

The disagreement was sparked when Bhujbal raised objections regarding the authenticity of certain voters in the Nandgaon Assembly constituency, leading to an exchange of heated words between the two candidates and their supporters.

Kande and Bhujbal, as well as their supporters, had a heated exchange of words at a polling centre in the Nandgaon Assembly constituency after the independent candidate raised objections over the authenticity of some voters in the segment.

On altercation between Kande and Bhujbal, Special IGP (Nashik) Dattatray Karale said: “Some people had gathered near a college located on Manmad-Nandgaon road in Nandgaon Assembly constituency. There was a misunderstanding that people from outside were brought there to vote. We are taking action and will lodge a case after verifying the facts of this incident.
